First Look - The Crow Girl Series 2

Paramount+ has released first look images for The Crow Girl Series 2. The thriller was filmed at Bristol's Bottle Yard Studios and on location across the city, with Katherine Kelly and Eve Myles returning to lead the second series. Based on the novels by Erik Axl Sund, The Crow Girl has become one of Paramount+'s most talked-about crime dramas.

The acclaimed thriller returns on the 20th July, with Eve Myles and Katherine Kelly back on the case as DCI Jeanette Kilburn and Dr Sophia Craven.

What Happened in Series 1?

Based on the highly successful novels written by Erik Axl Sund, Series 1 of The Crow Girl introduced us to DCI Jeanette Kilburn as she investigates what's happened to unidentified young men who start showing up dead around Bristol, beaten up and pumped full of drugs.

With the help of psychotherapist Dr Sophia Craven, Kilburn makes some shocking discoveries in her hunt for the killer.

By the end of Series 1, we get some answers as to who the killer might be, but a lot more questions, too. What we do know now at least is how and why these poor young men died in the first place.

A dentist - Carl Lowry and many of his posh friends, including a self-made billionaire called David White, and Peter Drake, the principal of Beecham College - hosted illegal fighting matches for their own amusement.

They'd promise asylum seekers living in England financial rewards to compete, but many died in the process. These dead immigrants were then hidden away and fed to pigs (gross, I know).

Series 1 ends on the realisation that Sophia Craven actually knew this all along, helping to expose the men responsible. Will real justice be served for the deaths of those poor immigrants? Will Jeanette discover the truth about Victoria?

The answers to all that and more will soon come our way in The Crow Girl season 2.

Where Does Series 2 Pick Up From?

Series 2 picks up the morning after where we left Series 1. Detective Kilburn finds herself in bed with psychologist Dr. Sophia Craven and Jeanette’s hunt for the killer of young male asylum seekers takes a shocking new turn.

As her investigation intensifies, Jeanette must face the terrifying truth that the killer might be closer to her than she realises.
